Tea party :)

Hello :)

So it's taken me a while to get them onto my laptop, but I have photos from my birthday! :)

My aunt let me use her house as the setting for my tea party.
Everything was perfect.

(we mixed and matched tea sets to put a little bit of quirk into it. Also: yes, we had fig newtons. I'm weirdly obsessed with them.)

(Melanie and her lovely crayon art -- doesn't she look gorgeous?)

(Stephanie and I! She's so awesome.) :)

The tea party was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn't have asked for a more fabulous 17th.

~ in other news...~

School has fit right back into my routine as though it never left.
Pre-Calculus is probably my hardest subject.
But then, math was never my strongpoint.
English, however, shouldn't be difficult to pass.
We're reading The Great Gatsby next semester.
:D
I read it as a Freshman, but didn't really pay attention.
This time I'm super excited to read it, and will probably ace all of the quizzes.
(fingers crossed!)

I seem to be very easily distracted lately.
For example, I decided to take pictures yesterday for no apparent reason.

As you can see: totally random and without point.

But as they say: c'est la vie

I hope your weekend (and Monday) was fantastic.

Danielle

Packing

Hi :)

I hope your weekend was lovely!
Mine was filled with plans for the trip to Maryland.
I have been packing non-stop since the middle of Sunday.
You'd think it would be easy to pack for a 10-day trip up North, but there is so much to do!
Fortunately I'm almost done.
It's a good thing, too, because we leave tomorrow morning.

Since a trip straight to Maryland would take about ten hours, we'll stay in North Carolina for a little bit before continuing our journey.

A few things that have kept me sane...

Frank Sinatra
Coldplay
Dean Martin
tea, of course
realizing that I love the majority of my closet
knowing that my Jane Austen novels will keep me from going bonkers if I ever find myself with nothing to do
the thought of taking pictures of MD and sharing them with all of you wonderful people

Also, my aunt and I have been planning a tea for my 17th birthday party.
It's going to be delightful!

Until I can take and upload pictures of our travels (I hope to do so daily), I leave you with this thought.

"Adventure awaits."

We shall see.

Danielle

Long weekends and Audrey Hepburn

Happy Tuesday!
I feel like I should say that on good days.
Especially on Sundays (Happy Sunday) because they're my favorite day of the week.

Anyway :)

My weekend was fantastic!

On Saturday I went to Angel's grad party.
It was absolutely lovely!

Here's a photo that I stole from Facebook ;)

(Dorina, Angel, and I)

The company was far from lacking, and the food was delicious!
Needless to say, I had a wonderful time.

Sunday was good (as Sundays often are), although some would consider it rather uneventful (myself included).
Mostly I read.
There's a Frank Peretti book I have to finish by the end of June for school, and I am not looking forward to it.
It's about 3 inches thick.
And the font is tiny.
>.<
Besides that, I finished The Hunger Games trilogy and began a new series.
(the new series is good, but The Hunger Games is difficult to beat.)

On Monday I finally saw The Avengers!
It was Marvel-ous!
(Get it? Marvel? Like the comics? Okay, that was a bit lame.)
By the way, did you know that Stan Lee (the creator of a bunch of superheroes) was featured at the end of the film?
He makes a habit of appearing in superhero movies.

Today I went to BN and finally got the book I've wanted for months.

Audrey 100 is a must for those of you in love with old films and actors.
If you're as obsessed with Audrey Hepburn as I am, I highly recommend that you get the book.

And that, my dears, is what I plan on occupying myself with today.
(that, and four Jane Austen novels, conveniently compiled into one book.)
Also, tea.
Yes, I'll be drinking lots of that today.

I hope your long weekend was exceptionally pleasant.
:)

Prom 2012

Prom was on Saturday night!

It took place at the Wyndham Grand Hotel, and the decorations were amazing.
I don't know who put everything together, but they did so very well!

I absolutely loved my dress. I could swear God led me right to it in the store.

Since I had roughly two hours to get ready after work, I did everything myself. Mostly I was just winging it, since I know I can do it over again next year.
I tried quite hard to not make everything look overdone.
I think my hair and makeup turned out fairly well.

^Katie and I before prom.

^ Luke and I before prom.

All in all, prom was lovely! A ton of my friends were there, and we danced so much.

TFA even had artists drawing caricatures of the students. :)

I hope your weekend was absolutely wonderful!

Prom dress

Hey there!

Today I bought my prom dress. Finally.

 I thought that maybe, possibly...

you might want to see it.

Of course, I then thought of how little fun that would be and decided to be secretive and only give you a preview.

So what have you got here? It's green, it's chiffon, and it's RL. Do with that what you will!

By the way (and this is irrelevant to the dress hunt you're about to perform), our prom theme is A Night in Paris.... or something French themed. How cool is that??

Anyway, I'd better get back to my schedule. It's very tight, you know.

Pool party :)

Aloha :)

So Tristan had another brilliant idea:

Pool party!

Most of the high schoolers from church came. We ate burgers, chips with a hint of lime, and watermelon. What could be better?

Oh wait, I know: pictures!!

Sweet Taylor :)

(Tristan's a dork) ;)

How adorable are Megan and Trey??

Elizabeth brought tattoo markers to the party! She's so clever.
For a while, everyone was happily occupied with becoming tattoo artists.

Lance's front.

Lance's back. I found this to be a very impressive drawing.

Tristan drew Mickie Mouse on my shoulder! It's still there. :)

The point of this photo was to take a picture of the bird on his chest, but of course he had to pose.

So cute, they match! I love it.

Needless to say, it was a fantastic Sunday!

I was insanely tired that night, and proceeded to laugh like a lunatic at anything and everything remotely funny. It would appear as though Sherlock Holmes 2 were a comedy, but I can assure you it is not.

Anyway, it looks like I'm in for another crazy week. But as they say: c'est la vie. (that's life, for all you non-French speakers.)

I hope your weekend was absolutely lovely :)

Danielle

Is it Friday already?

It's Friday the 13th!

Gosh, this week has blown by. So much to do!

Despite my hectic week, I wouldn't miss Friday Faves for the world.

(1, 2, 3, 4)

1) I just love this print. The colors are gorgeous, and the scene, of course, is perfect. If I had a Paris themed room, this would definitely be a must-have.

2) Lately I've been on the hunt for tan wedges, and these are close to what I want (less buckles, lighter shade... small alterations.). I found some about a week ago that were almost exactly what I'm looking for, but there was a reason they were on clearance (broken buckle strap loop thingy). I suppose I'll just have to keep looking!

3) How perfect is this picture? The tart looks delicious (I love all berries, by the way). I might have to make it if I come across a lazy day. There is no end to what you'll find on Pinterest. I have a whole board for food.

4) THIS. SHOW. If you haven't watched it, you're missing out. I can't help laughing continuously throughout the episodes. Re-runs are on TBS a lot, and the more current episodes can be found here. My favorite character is Sheldon. He's hilarious.

By the way, my first day at Planet Smoothie went well! I am now able to work the cash register. Currently, I'm working on the memorization of what smoothies go under which category. I made flash cards.

Well, I suppose that's it for today. If all goes as planned, I should have a party to tell you about come Monday.

Have a fantastic weekend. :)

Danielle

Happy early birthday!

Caleb's party was today! :)

Duck cake! Caleb ate half the head. It was so good! Confetti cake is, in my opinion, the best kind next to chocolate.

C was so preoccupied with Mom's cup of water that Aunt Becky had to open his presents for him! Babies are distracted by anything, really.

Happy birthday, one year old. (in 3 days, that is)

Love you, CayCay.

Happy weekend!

Danielle

Happy birthday, Dad!

Yesterday was Dad's birthday! He's 29. ;)

I made banana pudding, and there were tacos! I don't think I got the recipe exactly right, but we'll try again next time.

Everything was very tasty! Tacos are so fun. :)

Happy birthday, Dad!

Happy Valentine's Day! (yesterday)

Yesterday we had a party! Everybody baked, and the food was delicious. My friend Melanie and I were so excited. Party planning is at its best when the party is happening and going well.

Classes after the party though... not the nicest thing. But when items are placed just right,

it looks kind of cool.

I stayed late after school and got some pictures of the church and the memorial garden outside.

The architecture of churches/cathedrals is always so well-done. It's like the designers feel threatened by God that if they don't do a good job, He'll strike them with lightning. Whatever the reason for their creativity, it's effective.

I also snapped some shots of of my gorgeous sister and her 'incredible' hair. Also, my friend Hannah, who can't not laugh! (She's kind of a ball of light.)

By the way, follow this blog! It's my latest obsession. In fact, it's the inspiration for this blog. (although I have no expectations for mine ever having the same viral success) :)
